Rückblick auf den 2. Juli 2015 - 2. KITS - Konferenz "Datenschutz in EU und Deutschland - Fessel oder Fundament unserer digitalen Zukunft?"

– not actualized –
KITS-Konferenz 2015 – „Data protection in the EU and Germany – Impediment or basis of our digital future?“

We are all working on the digitalisation and digital development of our workflows and business models, our companies and institutions, our communication and our business operations. New types of data acquisition, data storage, data processing and usage have become the central source of innovation. They are the basis for “Industry 4.0″, “smart data”, the “Internet of Things”. But are we shaping this profound change in a way that complies with data protection?

The European Commission has responded to this issue and is currently bringing in a General Data Protection Regulation for Europe. This will clear up the chaos on national regulations. However, will the resulting legislation and structures lead to a basis for meaningful data protection which will also serve as a foundation for the future sustainability of Europe at the same time? Or will they be an impediment of our digital future?

DIN and its coordinating body IT Security (KITS) and IBM, Siemens and SIIA (US Software and Information Industry Association) partners, supported by msg, itWatch and UNISCON, cordially invite you to attend our event on

Thursday, 2nd July 2015, at DIN (Panorama conference room 909)
Am DIN-Platz, Burggrafenstraße 6, 10787 Berlin,

to join us in analysing, discussing and evaluating what these legal developments will mean for companies, what impact data drive innovations will have on the economy and society, what a sustainable understanding of data protection might look like, what opportunities self- and co-regulation offer for governing data protection regulation and security, what technical innovations improve data protection, what role data security plays when it comes to data protection, who actually owns the generated data and what significance should be attached to metadata, and much more.

We look forward to your participation!
